Donuts have always been part of Melanie and Jason’s story.

Melanie grew up around the donut business in California, spending part of her childhood helping manage one of her uncle’s donut shops. Jason shares that same connection, with siblings who own donut shops and experience as a baker himself. Through their families, they both grew up with a love and appreciation for the hard work, care, and tradition that go into making great donuts. Opening a shop of their own only felt like a natural next step.

In early 2026, Melanie and Jason moved from California to Michigan to open their dream donut shop. Though initially hesitant, they fell in love with Royal Oak’s warm and supportive community, making Michigan feel like home.

Family is at the heart of everything they do. Their goal is to create a warm, welcoming place where everyone can enjoy a sweet treat, gather with loved ones, and make lasting memories.
